Ray Huffstutter journeyed across the state of Ohio today and made two major discoveries for our family history.  In Trumbull Co Ohio  at the Pricetown Cemetery he identified the grave of Mary, wife of James Hofstetter. Only one broken piece of her tombstone remains. It says: “In Memory of Mary Hofste [broken]”. There is an aged bronze Veteran Marker and American flag near the grave indicating James is buried there too and the veteran marker memorializes his military service in the Revolutionary War.

Traveling on to Rittman, Ohio Ray made an earth shattering discovery. He found the grave of Ulrich’s son Matthew at the Knupp Church Cemetery.  There was actually a tombstone, more than half buried under debris.  Thanks to generous applications of numerous bottles of water we now know Matthew’s birth and death dates–neither of which we knew before today.
