Mrs. Jennie Mead, 82 years old will be buried Friday beside her husband, whose death never had been revealed to her.
Mrs. Mead died Monday at her home 1108 27th Ave. , just two weeks after the death of her husband Minor Mead, Seattle policeman. For fear of endangering her condition, the family had withheld news of her husband death from Mrs. Mead.
Funeral services will be held at 1 o'clock Friday in the Bonney Watson chapel. Entombment will be in Acacia Mausoleum.
Mrs. Mead was born in Northfield, Minn., had lived in Seattle since 1906. She was past President of General George Washington Circle No. 33, of the G.A.R; a mother of Cornelia Hancock Tent No.22, Daughter of Union Veterans; a member of Sexton Women Relief Corps, the womem's Benefit Association and the Lake Burien Garden Club. She was a member of the home board of the G.A.R., at Puyallup.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Gene Roderick, Seattle; a sister Miss Alfaretta M. Hoffstater, of Seattle, and a granddaughter, Mrs.S.J. Dril;ling Jr. of Oklahoma, City, Okla - 1948 - Seattle, King County, Washington
