- The wife of Elder George H. HON Obituary from pg 92 in the "The Christian Record" Departed this life at Orleans, Orange County, Indiana, on the 10th day of Dec 1868, She was born December 14th, 1810 and therefore only lacked four days of being fifty-eight years old at the time of her death. She had been a member of the Church of Christ for nearly thirty-seven years, and was a very devoted disciple of the Master. She was gentle and retiring in her disposition, yet firm and decisive in character. She was a fearless advocate and lover of the truth, and scorned everything savoring of deceit. She was warm-hearted, kind and affectionate, and greatly devoted to her friends. In all the relations of life, she filled her position well. " Modesty and Purity" Walked with her everywhere". But her sweet voice is now hushed in death, and her spirit has gone to a happier clime. As she lived, so she died; carrying with her to the judgment seat of Christ, the record of a pure and spotless life. B. J. Hon Orleans Ind., January 12th 1869. Remarks.-- For a quarter of a century we were well acquainted with sister Betsey Hon, and can bear testimony to the truth of the foregoing notice. In her death the Church of Christ at Orleans, has lost a devoted member; Brother Hon an affectionate companion; and the CHRISTIAN RECORD has lost a strong advocate, and firm supporter.
