OLD RESIDENT OF KEOKUK
IS CALLED HOME
Miss Ida Giffin Dies Early This
Morning After Period of
Illness - Funeral Services
Will Be Held Friday Afternoon
Miss Ida Giffin, an old resident of Keokuk, died at 2:15 o'clock this morning following a period of illness.
She was the daughter of Isaac and Mary Jane Giffin, old time residents of this city, who will be recalled by many since Mr. Giffin was prominent in business here.
Most of her life was spent in Keokuk until her health failed a number of years ago.
Her friends knew her as a woman of God, living courageously in the face of life, and faithfully and serenely drawing close to God in joys and in her sorrows.
She joined the Westminster Presbyterian church at the age of 8 years, and attended faithfully as long as her health permitted.
Surviving her are a brother and two sisters, Mrs. Nancy Stackhouse of Oakland, Calif., Mrs. A. Lucas of Keokuk, and Douglas Giffin of Dallas, Texas. There are also a number of nieces and nephews among them, Mrs. E.W. Adams and Frank Lucas of Keokuk.
The funeral services will be held from the Pearson and Schmidt Funeral Home at 3 p.m. Friday, after which the body will be placed in the criptorium.
