Coshocton Daily Times, 21 Jun 1928: "TWO BROTHERS SIMULTANEOUSLY SUED FOR DIVORCE. Actions for divorce were begun almost simultaneously in common pleas court against William and Leo b. Hoffstatter, brothers, of Jackson and Perry Twps., respectively. Elizabeth Hoffstatter asks a divorce from William Hoffstatter on the ground of extreme cruelty, claiming that her husband cursed and beat her at numerous times. In April this year, it is alleged he came home toxicated and forced her to leave their home at midnight, and she was obliged to walk in the rain for a distance of two miles to the home of a neighbor. She asks that she be granted alimony. A temporary order was issued restraining the defendant from disposing of any of his property. C. O. Turner represents the plaintiff. Ina Hoffstatter . . . The parties in the former action (William and Elizabeth) were married 9 Feb 1904, and have no children."
