Howe Cemetery

Located on a farm adjoining the original farm of Ulrich Huffstutter. The Howe family purchased their farm in the mid 1800's from the Thomas family. Dunlap Howe, born Jan 1801 Fleming Co., KY, died June 30, 1852. He married Antha (or Anna) Hall, born 1799, Bourbon Co., KY., died 15 Aug 1875. The cemetery has numerous small fieldstone markers for the graves.These are rough hewn and about twelve inches above the ground with no lettering. The area is heavily overgrown. Side be side are the tombstones of Leanne Howe, d Feb 23, 1849 and J.C. died Jan 12, 1845. There is a white marble slab approximately 6" by 18" with no dates and the initials D. H. Another stone is broken with the top half missing and the bottom portion partly buried: 12 yrs 7 mos 3 days.
